Stephen Jameson, M.D., FACEP, has been practicing emergency medicine in a busy urban emergency department for 28 years, and has been increasing his practice in rural emergency departments over the past 15 years – now half of his clinical practice. He has been involved in the business, directorship, and political aspects of emergency medicine throughout his career and is the current chair of American College of Emergency Medicine’s Rural Section. Dr. Jameson is a staunch advocate for quality patient care in all emergency departments and was a member of a national rural task force last year to help create policy to accomplish that. Dr. Jameson is coeditor of the most comprehensive online emergency medicine training program, Emergency Medicine Core Training, that helps non-EM trained physicians and PA’s/NP’s practice emergency medicine more confidently and competently. Patient safety and provider wellness are at the heart of all of his initiatives.
