Shanna Howe is the Vice President of Emergency Medicine for Gottlieb, LLC, with responsibility for Gottlieb’s Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, and Urgent Care service lines. Shanna brings over 25 years of Emergency Medicine reimbursement, client relations, operational, and process improvement skills. She leads the dynamic Client Services, Managed Care, Regulatory/Advocacy, Documentation Feedback & Education, and MIPS teams, ensuring physician practices nationwide are provided service with the highest level of quality and professionalism. She partners with strategic account leaders and the Gottlieb leadership team to develop strategies for successful practice revenue cycle management.
In Shanna’s prior role as VP of Operations for Gottlieb, she was responsible for designing systems aimed at helping ED physicians deal with complex insurance issues and focused on helping improve their practices. Shanna provided direct assistance to Emergency Physicians providing development of the analysis, negotiation, and implementation of managed care contracts with commercial insurance carriers. Her 25+ years’ experience in healthcare positioned her well to foster a service-oriented work environment with an emphasis on quality, accountability, innovation and teamwork. An expert in Accounts Receivables, Revenue Cycle Management, and Reimbursement trends; Shanna has been a guest speaker at numerous industry and association events.
Shanna is actively involved in the medical billing and compliance industry; actively involved in lobbying efforts in support of Emergency Medicine providers. Shanna serves on the Board of EDPMA on behalf of Gottlieb, LLC. She is also Co-Chair of EDPMA’s State Regulatory and Insurance Committee (SRIC) and serves as a member of EDPMA’s Quality Coding and Documentation Committee (QCDC) and Federal Health Policy Committee (FHPC). She is also an Honorary Member of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) Medical Economics Committee and works closely with other state ACEP Chapters and State Medical Societies. Shanna also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Emergency Medicine PAC of DE (EMPACDE).
